Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AI Absolution, available at aiabsolution.org (the "Website"), and your purchase and use of digital certificates and related services offered through the Website.

AI Absolution is operated from Denmark.

By using the Website or purchasing a certificate, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. This is a satirical product

AI Absolution is a novelty and entertainment service.

All certificates, statements of "absolution", declarations, titles, seals, certificate numbers, QR codes, verification pages and similar materials provided through the Website are fictional and satirical.

An AI Absolution certificate does not provide and must not be interpreted as providing any actual:

• legal absolution, pardon or immunity;
• religious or spiritual absolution or forgiveness;
• governmental approval, certification or authorization;
• professional accreditation or qualification;
• release from contractual, civil or criminal responsibility;
• determination that conduct was lawful, ethical or acceptable; or
• protection against claims, penalties, prosecution, disciplinary action or other consequences.

AI Absolution is not a court, government agency, law-enforcement organization, religious organization, legal practice, regulatory authority or professional certification body.

Purchasing or possessing a certificate does not change any person's legal rights, obligations or responsibilities.

The product is intended purely for humor, satire, entertainment and novelty purposes.

2. No affiliation or endorsement

Unless expressly stated otherwise, AI Absolution is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by or endorsed by any government, court, law-enforcement agency, religious organization, artificial-intelligence company, technology provider or other organization referenced or implied by the design or subject matter of the Website.

Official-looking formatting, seals, identification numbers, language, QR codes or visual elements form part of the satirical presentation and do not indicate official status.

3. Eligibility

You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to make a purchase.

If you are under the legal age required to enter into such a contract, a parent or legal guardian must make the purchase on your behalf.

4. Personalized certificates

The Website allows you to provide information used to personalize a certificate, which may include a recipient or display name, a custom description or "offence", and other personalization choices.

You are responsible for the information you submit.

If you provide information about another person, you confirm that you have a legitimate reason and any permission reasonably required to provide that information for creation and delivery of the certificate.

Do not submit sensitive personal information such as health information, financial information, passwords, government identification numbers, precise addresses, information about a person's sex life, or other information that would be inappropriate to publish or include in a novelty certificate.

5. Certificate verification and QR codes

Certificates may contain a unique certificate ID and QR code.

Scanning the QR code may open a verification page showing limited information associated with the certificate, such as the certificate ID and recipient or display name.

Anyone who obtains the certificate, QR code or verification URL may therefore be able to view this information.

The verification function confirms only that a particular novelty certificate was generated through AI Absolution.

It does not:

• verify that statements appearing on the certificate are true;
• verify the identity of the person named on the certificate;
• constitute an official record; or
• give the certificate legal, governmental, religious, professional or regulatory validity.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use AI Absolution to:

• engage in unlawful activity;
• impersonate another person or organization;
• falsely suggest official approval or authorization;
• facilitate fraud or deception;
• threaten, harass or unlawfully defame another person;
• violate intellectual-property rights; or
• deliberately create content intended to cause serious harm.

You must not present an AI Absolution certificate as a genuine governmental, legal, religious, regulatory or professional document.

We may refuse, cancel or remove content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable law.

7. Orders and payment

Prices are displayed before checkout.

Payments are processed using Stripe.

Stripe may collect payment details, billing information, device information and other information necessary to process transactions, prevent fraud and comply with applicable financial and regulatory requirements.

We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number.

Applicable taxes, if any, will be displayed, collected or handled as required by applicable law.

An order is accepted when payment has been successfully authorized and we begin generating the digital product.

8. Digital delivery

AI Absolution certificates are digital products.

Delivery may occur through an on-screen download, email, unique link, QR verification page or a combination of these methods.

You are responsible for providing a valid email address where email delivery is requested.

If a technical problem prevents delivery, contact terms-privacy@aiabsolution.org and we will make reasonable efforts to redeliver or regenerate the certificate.

9. EU right of withdrawal and immediate delivery

Consumers in the European Union and other jurisdictions providing an equivalent statutory right may ordinarily have a right to withdraw from certain distance contracts within 14 days.

AI Absolution provides personalized digital content that is normally generated and delivered immediately after purchase.

Where required by law, before immediate delivery begins we will ask you to:

1. expressly request that delivery or performance begins immediately; and
2. acknowledge that once supply of the digital content begins, you lose your statutory right of withdrawal.

If you provide this consent and acknowledgement and delivery begins, you will no longer have a right to cancel the purchase merely because you changed your mind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If the legally required consent or acknowledgement has not been obtained, your statutory rights remain unaffected.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or waived.

10. Refunds

Because certificates are personalized digital products generated shortly after purchase, purchases are generally final once generation or delivery has begun.

This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

If you:

• are charged more than once for the same order;
• do not receive the purchased certificate because of a technical failure attributable to us; or
• receive a materially defective or incorrect file,

contact terms-privacy@aiabsolution.org.

We may provide a replacement, correction or refund as appropriate.

11. Intellectual property

The Website, branding, layouts, software, graphics and certificate designs are owned by or licensed to AI Absolution and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

When you purchase a certificate, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use, download, print and share that certificate for personal and non-commercial purposes, including sharing it on social media.

You may not sell our certificate templates, reproduce the service commercially, remove proprietary notices or use our branding in a manner that falsely suggests affiliation with or endorsement by AI Absolution.

12. Content you provide

You retain any rights you have in text, names or other content you submit.

You grant AI Absolution a limited right to process and reproduce that content solely as reasonably necessary to:

• create the certificate;
• deliver the certificate;
• operate any associated verification functionality;
• provide customer support;
• protect the Website and service; and
• comply with applicable law.

13. Third-party services

AI Absolution relies on third-party services to operate the Website, including services for hosting, payment processing and email delivery.

These currently include providers such as:

• Netlify for website hosting and infrastructure;
• Stripe for payment processing; and
• Resend for transactional email delivery.

These services may process information in accordance with their own applicable terms and privacy policies.

Third-party services may occasionally experience interruptions, technical failures or delays that are outside our reasonable control.

14. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the Website where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, legal compliance or product development.

We do not guarantee that the Website or certificate verification service will remain available indefinitely.

Where reasonably possible, changes will not affect rights relating to digital products already purchased.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

The Website and all AI Absolution certificates are provided for entertainment purposes.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and products are provided "as is" and "as available".

We do not warrant that a certificate will be accepted, recognized or regarded as meaningful by any person, business, authority or other third party.

Nothing in this section excludes warranties, statutory guarantees or other consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AI Absolution will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from the use or misuse of a novelty certificate.

You are responsible for ensuring that a certificate is not represented as an authentic legal, governmental, religious, regulatory or professional document.

Where liability may legally be limited, our aggregate liability arising from a particular purchase will not exceed the amount paid for that purchase.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.

17. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims or losses resulting from content you submitted unlawfully or from your deliberate misuse of AI Absolution or a certificate in violation of these Terms.

18. Privacy

Our collection and processing of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Please review the Privacy Policy before submitting information about yourself or another person.

19. Applicable law and consumer rights

AI Absolution is operated from Denmark, and these Terms are governed by Danish law, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence apply.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection rules, nothing in these Terms deprives you of rights that cannot legally be waived or limited by contract.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Website, our services or applicable legal requirements.

The version applicable to a purchase is generally the version in effect when that purchase was made, except where changes are required by law.

The current version and effective date will be available on the Website.
